| As you've may have guessed we are not students taking a year out with minimal
preparation needed and so there are 101 details to sort out for our trip. Apart from that and the vaccinations either needed or recommended, we have literally everything to sort out. We have appointed an agent to let our house, but this is complicated by the fact that we have barns, an apartment and the main house. The thing to do is to let them separately or so our agent assures us. The barns complete with industrial freezers will go to a company looking for storage and we already have someone interested in the house. So far so good, but we also have cars to sell, offices to dispose of, jobs to resign from and if we are sensible, wills to make. We have also given our local notaire (also a friend), power of attorney whilst we are away. We will have to move all our furniture and possessions into storage, the idea being that on the final day, there will be just two full rucksacks and my trusty old guitar sitting on the lounge floor which we will pick up, lock the doors behind us and walk off into the horizon! The number of goodbye parties seems to be mounting, so I don't know how we will fit everything in in time. Lots of checklists and other useful information via the above links, to follow soon.... |
